News has just broken in DC that Harris is expected to call President-Elect Trump soon to concede the 2024 presidential race. Hopefully, this will help ensure a peaceful next few days in Washington, DC and we do not have any of the issues that we have been preparing for.
In a surprise, Democratic Rep. Susan Wild of Penn-7 has conceded the race to Republican Ryan Mackenzie. No one has called this race yet but Wild has already come out and announced her concession. With this as of 11:32 AM, the Republicans have flipped a net gain of 4 seats to 205. This is significant given how close the elections in several other races are both those that are currently in Republican control and those that are currently in Democratic control.
What lessons do you think Democrats will learn from this? What narratives are both parties telling themselves?
reply
A couple of things I think. For the Democrats Harris was never tested nationwide. I think that was a huge thing in people not knowing a ton about her and what they did know they did not like. Other issues that they overlooked were things like how she had to read a script, she was never available for interviews, and the economy really did matter even if they left that the economic numbers looked good. People do not feel like the economy is well.
For the Republicans, if they can hold the House, this would be a huge statement by the American people about what they think and feel. This election esp. the Presidency was supposed to take days to figure out not be decided the night of. Trump made incredible inroads across the board.

Clearly they didn’t learn anything from Trump. No allegations of stolen election, no fabricated stories, data, whatnot…

why are House seats taking this long?
Fewer votes to count
reply
Because of how close the races are. They are having to count almost all the ballots before they can call them
reply
How many total votes in a district? 100k?
reply
Depends on people registering and being old enough to vote. Roughly speaking at least in Texas after the last census they tried to cap it at 800K people per Congressional District. Not sure if that is the rule for everyone but that was the Texas rule. Votes are considerably less though just because you have little kids and people that have moved either into or out of the area who do no qualify anymore.

Have you seen Arizona? They have counted 67 percent of total so far. It’s Wednesday. Every state is close to 99 percent finished ✅
reply
Yeah so the courts kinda screwed them over... I don't know the full thing behind it but they are ordered to "slow count" the votes....

The problem is Maricopa County. Are they hand counting?
Same issue in 22 and 20.
Slow counting is one sign of fraud according to UN election observers in third world countries
reply
Its odd cause it was court ordered before the elections so I don't get it tbh
