Discrimination and Opportunities for Women

Had a funny experience applying for a caregiving role. 

A hiring manager called me

I said "Yes this is him" 

They said "Oh!" "We thought you were a woman" "You applied for a caregiving position."

I said "Yes I did" 

Again they said "Oh..." "Well we were looking for a woman"

I said "Oh, my apologies, have a great day." 

She said.......nothing and hung up the phone. 

(The lady was super rude and nothing in the advertised job description said they were looking for a woman)

Was eventually hired by a male hiring agent......
