This should be pretty sobering. It shows how moderate we are in aggregate. I recommend going back through other election years and noticing the subtle shift in red/blue.
Two opposing extremists does not aggregate to two moderates.

I do think maps like this are useful when people start talking in grand absolutes about what the election results mean about the country or other similarly broad topics.
The country is very similar to the counterfactual one where Kamala won a narrow victory instead.

Still better than India. You bi party people won't understand the pain of people when the ballot consists 20 candidates for one role and a NOTA as well.

Curious why you wrote this.

I think both sides are drunk on fear/triumph. It’s nice to see it still all melts into something familiar to both sides.

I don't think people know or think about the actual numbers with the population. At best two thirds of eligible voters actually vote. Those people are pretty evenly divided with their votes.
So a mandate is at most 1/3 of the eligible population voting for a person. This is seldom discussed by anyone because it really pulls back to veil of legitimacy we are propagandized into believing.
Been listening to people whining about Trumps victory. It's so pathetic to me.

Ah! Yes. The idea that there is some mandate is as dumb as it has ever been.

Kamala was the extreme candidate. She appeared moderate because of media corruption

Why can't we include United States of Canada into this. Only difference is that they have a different assembly where a clown is called the Prime Minister.

It shows how moderate we are in aggregate.
It's indeed critical to acknowledge this. It's the same for us here. And it's not good.
