I am a real estate investor, so of course I always find this topic interesting. The obvious distinction between bitcoin and real estate is that an owner of real estate is subject to the whims of the governmental entities that control the asset. Years ago a friend of mine asked me if I owned my own home. When I said I did, he said "no you don't, you rent it from the government." The truth of that statement stuck with me all these years. I still play the government real estate game, but I hang onto my bitcoin.
