I have been on here for quite some time and I have come to realize a few things. There is a lot of gaming and assmilking happening on Stacker News, and many of you do not even realize that it is happening. For the people that do realize it, they can not do anything about it. The assmilkers are taking advantage of everyone who is on here to learn about bitcoin and join the community. Even after some time, new stackers have to join the assmilking because there is no initiative to stop it. If they do not join, they will suffer and not make it as high on the leader board. They have to unwillingly be a part of the system that will eventually make Stacker News unenjoyable.

I believe the solutions are:

Stackers Stop giving assmilkers sats on their posts. Minimize the amount they can assmilk by not contributing to their posts. This will eliminate their behavior! Why are we giving sats to people that just post links? Do you really believe they have read the whole article or have listened to the whole podcast? Just because they have a good reputation doesnt mean you should zap them sats. Each sat has meaning!

@k00b Is it possible to show how much each person contributes sat wise and the time to each post? We are already able to see how many people zap a post. This will help show which people are actually supporting the posters, and keep the system more honest. Everyone would be able to see who is feeding the assmilkers, and everyone would be able to take that into consideration. If it was all an open system, we would be able to see all of this and make these educated kinds of decisions. Everyone could see who are the sockpuppet and which accounts are linked after a little bit of logic. For the people who care, that would actually mean a lot.

Conclusion: Everyone, Stacker News is what we make of it. If we allow these type of people to gain more influence on this platform, eventually the platform will push away people that are genuinely interested in bitcoin and stacker news. Think deeply on what kind of platfrom you want Stacker News to become.

Assmilking, who would do such a thing? Is it possible to make all of the details possible for both the zapper and the zapper? That would take a lot of post-gre database space and alteration of the database. It might also reveal relations and relationships that may be better off not revealing. Then again, light is always cleansing. It just depends on what you want.

you are wrong and right. I can do something about, but only me, is not enough. I am watching many accounts on SN. And I can confirm that assmilking is their main goal. Is almost disgusting how other old stackers are even participating in this assmilking without even knowing.

Isn’t it the responsibility of each individual stacker to properly reward the assmilkers? Both positively and negatively. If people took things more seriously, you wouldn’t see too much disgusting behavior. The problem might be that some people look upon SN as a means of making their income for daily life. Sorry, but I just can’t see that happening very well.

The whole thing start with MORALITY. People nowadays do not have morality. They do not know what is right and wrong. And from (not having) morality comes everything later: statism, slavery, ass kissing, obedience, sheepism etc.

THEY do not want to teach natural law, THEY do not want us to learn about natural law, THEY do not want to apply natural law. Why? Because THEY want to do all of those things that are wrong, for THEIR benefit. Universality would mean that THEY have natural law applied to THEM as much as to us. Anathema!

Nice caustic write up. I'm not so much aware of ass milking as I am of lazy people who just give a link or the obvious Artificial Ignorance piece. I put these people in the category of screenshots without hyperlinks. Having a description is useful, too.

I've sometimes posted crap that I liked without any description as well as posting crappy edits.

I've learned to navigate pretty quickly here but I've also got 29 years of digital reading experience since 1995.

I think you learn the personality and sometimes you have knife fights but also happy mountain climbs.

Here's to ass milking the SATs from shitty posts. As Bitcoin increases buying power the easy money will no longer have access to sats.

If you own a territory you can post whatever you feel like it. Assmilking or not. I post links all the time on my territories and I will continue to as I see fit.

SN will find its own level. I have seen people come and people move on - honestly - if someone is prepared to post a link for 100 sats milk-age a day they need help rather than my outrage. I choose not to support ‘no comment’ links, AI-plagiarised nonsense or pointless polls. Do not waste your sats or time.

(I don’t call it out as butt hurt assmilkers have a tendency to lash out.)

Can someone please define assmilking? I'm searching through SN and only seeing people use the term with context clues, but it would helpful to understand what this is versus spam posting. Also, I'm too afraid to google it. Also, now my search bar preview looks like this :(
