is it an unannounced or announced channel? i already had my 2 sat-zap force closure with Blixt and even tho it's an amazing wallet, i am still mentally recovering from that incident, so i treat the current unannounced channel with great care, and route most payments thru an LSP for higher reliability.
imho, such tiny payments have no place on an amateur routing node, or even an unannounced channel of a private spending wallet. custodial wallet or large realiable LSP's can handle those tiny payments better. cashu mints on a cloud server are also great for small payments.
basically, how does one know whether ur node froze up due to a slew of random zapping activty or some other reason? stress-testing is warranted, but the system doesn't have to be stress tested all the time, especially when there are other options with lower consequences.
Nah my start9 node has been freezing up for about once a month these last 3 or 4 months.
I power cycle it and everything works smoothly after
Do I have to remind to everybody my old warnings? #523570
btw... that's why ek hate me, because I warned people from the beginning.
And this is going to have more consequences, even if stackers will say "ok I will use another custodial account so I will not get FC on me". But that is again, throwing the dead cat in other's garden. Those custodial solutions will have THEIR channels FC and will start looking into WHAT is causing this, finding out that is SN... So what they will gonna do? Will start filtering these SN zaps and block them, making your zaps on SN unreliable.
This system of "hold invoices" is good but should not be used in situations like SN zaps. Is ok for Robosats and things like that where the users are aware that have to wait until is settled the HTLC.
BTW, SN never explained in details how this system will work, so users will be aware. They just mentioned vague information.

"throwing the dead cat in other people's garden" lol 🤣
i agree that people are very slow to take up new information, it's a lot and very nuanced, and even those who mean well are busy learning other things, teaching without learning better wallets (e.g. using Muun), working, etc.
it helps when more people talk about the problems, and the viable solutions. it's hard work, because addressing one problem unveils many others.
a node runner friend refuses to run nodes without tor, i think in part because his parents are lawyers and he is too scared to look into sovereign education, so i stopped talking to him even at the meetup. instead i work on someone else who is less close-minded, since i do not like to get upset. hopefully over time the slow tide raises all ships (intelligence level).
is there an avalanche of force-closures during nostr zapathons that anyone noticed?
