Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!

We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!

Good morning everyone :)

Hello, right now I'm watching the movie Nanny McPhee with my family, titled Nanny McPhee, la nana mágico in Latin America and La nañera mágico in Spain, it's a comedy and fantasy film from 2005. The film is directed by Kirk Jones, and was adapted from the Nurse Matilda book series by actress Emma Thompson, who also plays the main character in the film.

In the waiting room of the hospital for the kid. Nothing bad, but feel like I'll be here for an hour or two. Time to kickstart an SN commenting session :)

Parental duty calls. I used to spend a lot of time that way, too. Although, I have to say that the dentist is even worse. How old are your kids?

Still not a fun way to spend a weekend.

It’s absolutely silly that bitcoin services are blocked here in New York State!

reply

Why? Is it blocked by the state? State Laws? Well, at least you can VPN out of New York! Perhaps another reason to leave that state.

reply

Bit license

reply

What is a “BIT LICENSE”? This is a new one on me.

reply

A law that was put into place that made it really hard to do bitcoin business endeavors

reply

Wow, this makes you a slave to the central bank of your country!! Does a VPN work to get things done outside of your country?

reply

It’s just New York State. Cross state lines and you get more bitcoin freedom

reply

You are slaves to Houchel or what ever the f*ck her name is. Why haven’t you (in the plural) bounced her out of office, yet?

Actually, I thought you were not in the US. I guess the civil war did not settle the question of slavery, after all.

Really? What kind of bitcoin services?

Happiness Journal 23/11/24

This has been my most memorable dinner in 2024 so far.

I took advantage of the recent surge in Bitcoin price to spend 23k sats on a $30 worth of GrabFood voucher (as opposed to $20 in more fiscally sane times).

This $30 was enough to make my family of four happy. My children, because they got a dinosaur toy with their Happy Meal. My wife, because she was exhausted after a long day of work. Me, because this meant that enough people liked my writing enough to zap me 23k sats. I am a paid writer, even if I’m a hobbyist - and the satisfaction just hits different from my day job.

Also, my wife made me this cup of latte. I never really lament my lackluster earning power because I have a wife who is talented in so many areas and quenches the need for me to consume much.

GM stackers I have a small doubt, a few days ago out of curiosity I looked at the list of rewards and I noticed this, so I had the doubt of knowing how the rewards work or is it something random? In my opinion, I thought that these users should be in inverted positions, since the one below has spent more, has stacked more and has had more interactions.

reply

It doesn't matter, ranking isn't based on how much you spend. It's the algorithm that works in such a way that whoever created quality content or I would say engaged more ranks hire. It's not random.

I've already asked this question when I was new to SN from @ek and @k00b and they told me this.

reply

Ohhhh okay, I was confused, I couldn't make any sense of it. Thanks for answering.

reply

Usually, it works the way you expect it to, but there can be oddities if someone just happens to zap top posts really early.

Also, there's a lag in updating the rankings, so the lower stacker may have ended up higher on the board.

reply

Haha it's fine. You're welcome
