I quite agree but we shouldn't forget it's just a simulation which lies on many predictions and assumptions

Biological breakthrough: Cells can ‘learn’ like brains

> Instead of working with cells directly in the lab, the researchers turned to computer simulations to track the biochemical reactions that cells rely on to process information. 

That's intriguing. Seems like they are looking at is some kind of emerging behavior. Yet, this would mean the computer simulations need to be able to capture it. I couldn't find it they use dft, md, or some other formalism.

Computational biology is quite fascinating...
