Yep. The Eagles wouldn't exist without him....not to mention he was hanging with The Stones (and heavily influenced them) during their entire "country phase" (Honky-Tonk Women, Wild Horses, Dead Flower, etc)...

I assume most stackers don't know much about him, but he was incredibly influential in the genre of country rock before his tragic death at the age of 26. 

He was a member of the Byrd's, and a founding member of the Flying Burrito Brothers.
