This passed me by the first time, though I must have skimmed it. Great write-up. It brings back VERY old memories for me, but it still feels like yesterday. I love the root access analogy. I saw a few references in the comments to your addiction. I'm no medical expert, but I think it is in all likelihood an impossibility for a human to become addicted to LSD.

I agree. I would say I have been addicted to weed and tobacco in the past and my thoughts about consuming LSD or shrooms again are nowhere as intrusive.
It's always just a "mhh, wouldn't it be nice to go on a trip again? ..." and then I immediately start to think about something entirely else again. That's not the case with tobacco or weed; the craving for them can completely cripple my concentration.

I‘d also say so from experience

No, it’s been at least a month. I stopped when I got a nasty cold and didn’t start again. But I usually only smoked it with THC or CBD weed.
So this means it’s been at least a month since I smoked tobacco or weed.
