A few years ago NASA landed on an asteroid, so I believe we have the technology to do so. What would complicate the situation is the size of the asteroid and how long we would have to prepare. Scientists have already mapped possible asteroids that could collide with Earth in the future, but if you prepare properly, that's another problem.
You're absolutely right! NASA’s DART mission proved we have the technology to change an asteroid’s course which is surely a huge step. The tricky part is size and timing big asteroids or last-minute discoveries make things much harder. But with early detection, like mapping potential threats, we have a much better chance to prepare and act.
