I was talking to my dad about this earlier today. He has quite a bit more faith in Elon than I do. I was trying to explain what a daunting task it will be, if they pursue the strategies that I've heard about so far.

Firing federal workers or changing their employment contracts (i.e. rescinding remote work) is going to be very difficult. They have many legal protections and the whole system will be fighting and stalling.

The best strategy, as I see it, is wholesale termination of departments.
