I am posting a bit earlier this week as I am going to be busy over the weekend and prefer to give you plenty of time. Back to business. Only three more weeks to know which teams will be in the next round of the Champions League.
On Tuesday, Leverkusen will receive Inter Milan. Both teams are within the top 8, though the Nerazzurri seem a bit stronger lately, in the European tournament. Inter is also within the top 3 teams at the Serie A, following their victory against Parma on Friday. Bayer is also third at the Bundesliga but 7 points away from Bayern Munich.
Another interesting match will be played in Bergamo,, where Atalanta will receive Real Madrid. Tough match for the Merengues, as the Italians are commanding Serie A after their win against AC Milan. Real Madrid is situated on the verge of elimination and their brand new star, Mbappé, is going through a difficult year, having missed two penalties kick in the last 2 matches.
Finally, on Tuesday, stackers will need to predict the result between the surprising Brest and PSV. The French team lost their last match against Barcelona and were displaced out of the top 8. We will see if the can come back with a vengeance and recover the sough after position to go through to the last 16.
On Wednesday, a match is above the rest. Barça and Borussia will play in Dortmund to remain as high as possible as we get closer to the end of the group phase. Lewandowski returns to the city where he played before moving to Bayern and scored 103 goals in four seasons. Once he left the team, he has scored 27 goals in 26 matches to Dortmund. Will he continue this strike?
Also, a great match between Juventus and Manchester City. The citizens finally were able to win a match this week (3-0 against Nottingham Forest). They managed to add just 8 points in the previous 5 weeks. They could not afford to lose any more points in the European competition. Juventus, also with 8 points in the table, will try to surprise the English side to secure a post in play-off positions.
The last match this week will be Arsenal vs Monaco. The Gunners added a great win last week against Sporting Lisbon which positioned them in the top 8. Monaco remains 8th despite of losing last week against Benfica. They were winning 2-1 just before Sing was sent off. Then Benfica came back in the las 10 minutes to win the match 2-3.
