Cocktail of the day: Cable Car 1996

Today is a very sweet dessert drink with a spicy punch. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz spiced rum 3/4 oz orange curaçao 1 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz simple syrup 3-4 drops saline solution

Instructions: Shake with one large and two smaller ice cubes and strain into a Nick & Nora class with a fine mash strainer. Garnish 1/4 of the glass rim with cinnamon and sugar.

Interesting combination. Love the handwritten recipe book. Forgive my ignorance but what does the saline solution do exactly?

Just 3-4 drops will enhance the flavor of every cocktail. Anything sweet should have a pinch of salt and anything salty should have a pinch of sugar. Having it pre-diluted makes it much easier to incorporate into the drink.
