If I were to tell you I am psychic, would you believe me? Would you ask me to guess what number you are thinking of? How would you verify someone's "psychic abilities". Or would you even try? Would you assume they are full of it? Do you believe people can have abilities beyond the 5 senses?

Who have you helped with your psychic abilities? Have you helped anyone with your psychic abilities?
Animals have additional senses that humans don't. So if you believe in evolution, it's possible that people can have abilities beyond the 5 senses.
reply
I think animals have a lot of sense that we don't because we tend to reject the flow of nature. We tend to think of ourselves as being outside of nature. For me, sitting in stillness in nature is huge for discovering this. I also work with shamanistic tools and practice fasting, meditation, sun gazing, yoga, breath work, etc. These types of tools and practices help me tap into my deeper gifts.

This guy actually thinks he is psychic, by the way... Maybe slow down on the Ayahuasca?

This prompt reminded me...during COVID, I guess I got bored from being cooped inside so much. I started making some silly stick figure animations. I made three having to do with a crystal ball medium. For sake of frivolity...

These are great. How did you make them. Did it take a lot of time?
reply
Yes, I made them. I used a drawing pad and software called pencil2d and then phitoscape to make the gif. I'd say 1 to 2 hours each. It was actually kind if fun for a while.

I believe in cold reading as a very efficient strategy for reading minds, and there is nothing supernatural about this technique. I am open-minded to certain paranormal phenomena, but not in this regard.
reply
What is cold reading?
reply
Cold reading is a set of techniques used by mentalists, psychics, fortune-tellers, and mediums. Without prior knowledge, a practiced cold-reader can quickly obtain a great deal of information by analyzing the person's body language, age, clothing or fashion, hairstyle, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, level of education, manner of speech, place of origin, etc. during a line of questioning. Cold readings commonly employ high-probability guesses, quickly picking up on signals as to whether their guesses are in the right direction or not. The reader then emphasizes and reinforces any accurate connections while quickly moving on from missed guesses.

The movie Nightmare Alley features and discusses a similar technique. It’s very interesting to watch
reply
That makes sense. I think that people that have these abilities are just sensitive an are able to take in lot of information. Thank you for sharing. I learned something new.

It's my pleasure

This is called "heuristics" and everyone does this daily (not in a paranormal way). It's aka "common sense." Like everything though, there are wide ranges of skill levels. Some people pay attention to others, consciously or not, and can aggregate and assemble all those clues you mention. Some people pay no attention at all to others, like someone comes into work after a family conflict, stress onbtheir face, not "put together well", and Mr. Its all about me says, "Wow you look terrible." We all know people like that! An astute reader if clues would put things together, sense a hard time, maybe have empathy, then either ease into a kind word or simply give space and say nothing.
reply
I'd ask what psychic powers you've got and whether you can teach me
reply
I am learning about my abilities slowly. I work with people to heal and do shadow works, so they may find out about their own abilities. I think we are all gifted in different ways.
reply
Everyone is Psychic.
Some are more skilled than others.
There are teachers and schools that offer Psychic Development Classes.
You can go to certain Churches and get psychic readings.
reply
I believe this is true. What words we use is a small portion of communication.

I would believeyou, but would that matters to you?
reply
I would never tell anyone if I had psychic abilities. So no. I just like hearing from people how they think about these things.
reply
There are over 80 known psychic abilities. Some are pretty obvious like telekinesis while many others are immensely subtle. You can't just look at someone and know that they are a psi-- well, unless you are one too, maybe.
So you better tell which ability do you have?
reply
I don't know, is my best ability. Not knowing, is how I surrender to flow. And then the universe seems to unfold exactly how I expect. It's kind of a difficult thing to conceptualize. But I know things by not knowing..
I had no idea they have come up with 80. Crazy!
reply
universe seems to unfold exactly how I expect
My motto is "You get what you expect"
reply
Totally. Be careful where you focus. In dirt biking they say "don't look at the wall".
reply
I'm interested in this surrender mechanism, please tell me more.
reply
It's not an easy thing. It takes a lot of work at examining self. Understanding who we are. Which takes shadow work, facing our darkness. When we see ourselves clearly and are present, we can make a better assessment of our projections of the world. We surrender to what is vs. Fighting against it. Then we may feel like we see what is coming before it comes. Without knowing, there is a knowing. There's some words that may or may not make any sense. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Thank you for the reply. Did you read Oupensky or Gurdjeff? I feel some connections here.
reply
Never heard of it. I am not much of a reader of books. Most of my lessons come through experiences with shamanistic tools, fasting, meditating, etc.

Direct first hand experiences are always the best ones, I agree.
Anyway, if you are curious read "Fragments of an Unknown Teaching" by Oupensky, he explain how you need to know yourself, starting from the mechanical machine, to free yourself, exit the mechanistic flow and become a real "man". This is a rally hard path that very few people can sustain.
reply
Thank you for engaging and the suggestions. I agree that most people aren't interested in the difficult path of self-inquiry. It is truly exhausting... And super rewarding. We get back what we put in.
Tell me how my skittles I just put up my butt

Zero is my guess. But you would have to ask a real psychic.
