I'm used to getting mocked by my normie friends when bitcoin's fiat price dives.
This time is different. I'm getting contacted by those same friends who are terrified by this "bitcoin crash."
I have told so many people over the past year that when you start buying bitcoin you have to expect the price to be volatile as you go through the learning phase. They all say "yeah, I'm not worried."
Well, turns out they're all worried as hell. I feel like a therapist.
Are other stackers experiencing this?

Always blame the 58k gang.

I love this!!!

Not me.
I'm still stacking like a maniac, I'm glad the thing didn't go through the roof.
Bitcoin is my money, glad my time can still be valued so heavily.

DCA is great- part of you is sad the price is down but part of you is glad you get to stack more.

Time in the market beats timing the market.

Assuming they're mostly around our ages, maybe use fiat concepts to get the point across: They've surely learned the wisdom to never check their retirement accounts during a downturn (and to avoid constantly checking it). Same for btc. It's a long game.
reply
If they are 'terrified' then they haven't studied bitcoin or read The Bitcoin Standard. Let them panic sell, send them a message 'HFSP' and screenshot it so you can make fun of them some time in the future.

I was a little bummed when bitcoin dipped almost 20%, immediately after I managed to get my retirement account rolled into it. That was mostly just lamenting that if the process had dragged on another week, I would forever have 20% more bitcoin, though.

Bitcoin crashes to $91,000
I tell people to buy MSTR which makes btc look 'stable'
reply
The "crash" was caused by this dude's hawkish speech.

I am so glad that you have shared your experience with Bitcoin with other people. Don't worry, my friend, we have all felt that way, especially when we have colleagues or friends who share the same ideology as Bitcoin, which is an asset that, although volatile, is safe and is the digital future.
reply
I'm not experiencing this, because I don't know any bitcoiners IRL (that I'm aware of) and I don't tell my friends I'm a bitcoiner. I think only 3 people know and my efforts to orange-pill them have been fruitless.
But what crash? Prices not seen in 2 weeks?
reply
I told somebody to text me when it crashes below 30k.
reply
Omg, yes! My colleagues are constantly asking and trying to enquire about it. But they think it’s too late now. I believe their regret will continue. There’s no way I can convince them. But my friends, yes, they just started stacking a year ago.
reply
Why are you trying to convince them? Just send 'HFSP' and screenshot the message so you can laugh later
reply
But that would be very rude. I don't want to sound mean or egoistic person. I cannot force anyone; who am I to force them, or make fun of them? I believe it's still early, and they'll join too sooner or later.
reply
If you truly care about them, convince them to STUDY BITCOIN, instead of just buying.
reply
I understand what you're trying to say here, but they aren't even 1% interested. So, it's hard. They've been brainwashed to the point where they cannot think that there can be any money other than fiat.
reply
Then why are you trying to convince them? Don't waste your time/energy. đź’Ş
reply
Yep! That's what I've accepted. Now I try only with those who also try. I can't waste my time and energy on stubborn.
reply
Not as of yet.
I think it is alarming for people because the numbers are big now. So they see it was 108k and now 95k and think "wow it dropped so much" but it's really only 12%. We have seen big cap tech stocks drop that much in a day on an earnings report.

I'm experiencing almost the same thing. My friends who don't own BTC try to tease me, saying that Bitcoin isn't safe, it's not worth dealing with, that the price is going to drop, and things like that. In this case, I usually have no arguments with them. They are not going to understand.
reply
saying that Bitcoin isn't safe
i'm sure his fiat melting ice cubes on his 4-digits pin bank account is safer.
just tell him 'HFSP'
reply
Yup, apparently Bitcoin is all over forever again… 🤦‍♂️
