Yep. They didn't lose points. They lost possible points.
Each pick in June was potentially worth 10 points, because there were 10 months until the end of the season (I might have to add a couple of points to the Champion picks).
The picks they made last month were only potentially worth 5 points, because there were only 5 months until the end of the season.

Thanks. I get it now. Sometimes we foget that there's lot of maths running backend while participants enjoying the pool.

I see. But it's still confusing how you reversed? If I change from Pacers to Denver, how many points I'll lose ?

You only get points for a correct prediction, so you would only lose points if the Pacers end up winning the championship. The reason you would switch is that you think someone else is going to win, which would result in gaining points.
