You get the same ‘bunch’ trotted out year after year!
There are literally hundreds of Xmas songs - yet radio & TV stations seem to play the same ten tunes one after the other!
By the time Xmas day arrives - you might already be slitting your throat at one more rendition of ‘Fairytale of new york’ or - ‘Last Xmas’ or - ‘All I want for Xmas is you’ or maybe another that you're really sick of.
So, why not just share
What Christmas song are you sick of?
this territory is moderated
Oh easy.
All I want for Christmas is you
reply
People are sick of it but it's the most listened! Don't understand what makes this song so special?
reply
I was just about to post this Mariah Carey mess.

This, and Santa Baby are eye gougers.
reply
All of them.
Literally all of em.
reply
Yes, all of them.

Adults might well be sick of it but kids love it.
reply
Yes, most of them really suck but I can listen this one.
reply
The music is cool but I don't think you won't get sick of it if you listen it like a Christmas song. It's more of a complain song. Isn't it?

I think stings rendition of three ships is a banger. I like merry Christmas from the family by Montgomery gentry

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree has to be the most obnoxious song ever made. Anything else written or sang after y2k has to go

  1. Why are you Xing Christ in Christmas? The holiday is called Christ Mass.
  2. Yes, the over playing of the same songs leads to cynical observance of Christmas that's why I love what SomaFM is doing with 5 different Christmas Stations that are commercial free!
  3. The Mariah Carey song is definitely one that I'm wont to loathe.
  4. Generally I don't like hearing the same recordings so when I hear Christmas Lounge I appreciate the songs again as I did when I was younger.
  5. I was very lucky in the 1970s as I lived in a neighborhood where we gathered with neighbors and practiced singing Christmas carols and once we were confident in our ability we went out on a few nights and knocked on doors and we sang for the residents who opened their doors. This makes me appreciate the carols intimately.
  6. I went to an elementary public school in Virginia where we had a lot of Jews, Christians and we sang Chanukah and Christmas songs! So it was not unusual to visit Jewish, Muslim or Christian friends who had Christmas trees, menorahs and a mix of things because it was fun!
  7. Vince Guaraldi, the composer of Charlie Brown Christmas songs is one artist that I can not hear enough of. I like others who play his music as well.
Merry Christmas. This was a good thought exercise.
