Aren’t there only 2 movies and 1 show?
There are three movies, two miniseries, and one TV series! There was a movie back in the '80s (that Toto did the soundtrack for!), and then the two recent movies as well. The two miniseries were both in the early '00s I think, and then the show that's still running.
I wasn't aware of the 2 miniseries
They're definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the books, they're fairly faithful to them on a lot of things. They're both three episodes.

It was lower budget, but enjoyable.
I like series that prove you don't need a massive budget to be good! I'll admit to preferring the new movies even with all the changes, but the miniseries are still very close.
Yes, when the actors are good, everything changes.
You dont always need the big names to make a tv show excellent.
One was the Dune book and one was a combination of Dune Messiah and Children of Dune. It was, for these two, one continuous story.
