Syncthing is nice if you got a spare tablet or old phone too. Your own storage so maximum sovereignty

Interesting, never heard of the Syncthing app. I assume I could have a folder on my laptop, and synch it (or just certain files) to my phone?
It looks like the developer is not going to do android releases anymore, he's unhappy with Google Play.

Android devices are nice, as long as all the google stuff is removed. GrapheneOS ftw

I disagree with this 'cloud' bullshit.
Why do people even need clouds in the first place?
Just use Syncthing app to sync the files between your phone and laptop, it's such a simple and elegant solution.
When i'm outside, my phone has all my files—and when i'm inside, my laptop also has all my files. Everything is synced.
Cloud solutions (like Proton Drive) are only really useful for emergency backups.
