Whenever I think farmdog, I always think of Lassie.
Now that I think of it, was Lassie even a farm dog?
Collies are hearders, I think, so they would count as a farm dog. There are some very cool farm dog breeds that have served various purposes over the years.
Its amazing all the different breeds that were used for farming in different environments.
On a side note, are pugs part of the AKC?
I know they are one of the unhealthier breeds.
"The AKC says it promotes responsibly “breeding for type and function” to produce dogs with at least somewhat predictable traits, whether as basic as size or as specialized as bomb-sniffing skills. The club says it has given over $35 million since 1995 to its canine health research charity."
If it promoted the pug breed, I would suppose it would have to fund research into why they are so unhealthy.
Yes. Pugs are AKC. Most unhealthy dogs are AKC. I'm showing my bias😀
A lot of the dogs that are purebred are unhealthy.
A lot of them end up in shelters after they get older because of this reason.
Maybe I'll start a "Farm Dog Of The Day" post.
Or a "Dog of the Day" based on movies?
There are many dogs in movies, I wonder if people would recognize them?
Cute dog. It looks like a slightly bigger jack russell terrier.
That's what I thought too. The head seems small for the body, though. It's got the build of an American Bulldog
Cute pup

I don't know what supposed "use case" this dog has. Since it's AKC, I'm sure it's not a true working dog anyway. Most of the working lines aren't show dogs.
