Sounds like the judge wanted to do something before January 20 otherwise he has to wait until 2029

Maybe that is why they are just going to sentence him with unconditional discharge? Can a president undo pardons?

Maybe. I can tell you that an unconditional discharge is a damn lenient sentence in NY. That being said, the judge still wanted to stick him with the conviction.

He wants to stick him with the conviction, but not with an actual sentence. Trump will walk away and still be president. This effectively just wasted money and time.

He thinks it will embarrass Trump. I don't think he realizes the damage these convictions have done to the respect your average citizen has for the rule of law.

I get the feeling Trump could care less. As long as he is president, he doesnt care. It is just showing how crooked the justice system is, which is a shame.
