Blockstream has just released the Jade Plus, the next generation of its Bitcoin hardware wallet, evolving from the well-known Jade. With a redesigned look, hardware upgrades, and a set of new features, Jade Plus promises a premium and intuitive experience for both newcomers and seasoned crypto users.
  • Expanded Screen: 66% larger and 20% brighter for better visibility.
  • Enhanced Materials: Available in standard plastic and now also in metal, in Genesis Gray and Lunar Silver colors.
  • Refined Navigation: Now with button-based controls for a more user-friendly interaction.
What do you think about Blockstream's new Jade Plus? Do you use a hardware wallet? If so, which one? And for those already using the original Jade, what's your opinion on it?
Let's discuss!
PS: Taking advantage of this function on StakerNews I will be directing 50% of every sat stack on this post to @JoeNakamoto, to support his great content, and other great content makers here like @grayruby, @k00b, @BlokchainB and @Coinsreporter

For those who already have Jade: Why would spend another 170K+ sats for a better screen / better material, instead of stacking harder.
For those who already own another hw wallet: Why would you spend 170K+ sats on more ewaste instead of stacking harder?
For those who don't own any hw wallet: Hardware wallet companies are all shady. Get a SeedSigner instead, or an old air-gapped linux laptop, or my personal choice, an air-gapped GrapheneOS device.
I see everyone saying they want to 'stack harder' but as soon as something 'new and exciting' comes up they open their wallets and go crazy with consumerism...
If any of you actually understood Bitcoin you would do everything in your power to NOT spend any money, and instead stack as much sats as you can.

There is no reason to update. I am thinking just because I can give my older one to my brother to get him in cold storage too. Would you give a jade, the jade plus or other?
reply
Jade is easy to use. I would suggest giving that to him.

This whole post is kinda sus, he is using a fresh account, and linking a bunch of Jade stuff with affiliated codes...

I do have other account. But lost my node and could not recover: https://stacker.news/RReis Now I will have to start again
reply
That's a fresh account aswell...
What's up with all the affiliate codes?
reply
That was not fresh, created in May 2023. Anyway judge as you wish

You know exactly what i meant with fresh. You don't have any posts made on both accounts, you are using an profile picture of a guy generated with AI, and you dodged my question about the affiliate links twice.
I would rather take the least expensive route and stack more sats (you could get him the normal jade and extra sats, instead of the plus, he will thank you in the future).

The original is great. I have 2. Don't feel the need to upgrade.

🤣best answer! Any favorites? Did you participate in the BitKey Beta test?
reply
Each one has its positives and negatives. It’s hard to say which one is my absolute favorite.

In terms of beauty, I prefer the BitKey. I find its design to be much more elegant and visually appealing
