I shared some photos in a post #839102 earlier showing the snow a few hours ago in DC. Well since then it has just kept coming down none stop and Navy Yard (just south of the Capitol buildings) has received over 6 inches and climbing! It has briefly sleeted around the district as well which is supposed to lower our total snow amount but regardless we are looking set for huge snow storm.
Today is the day that the Constitution states the Electoral College votes are to be counted but some people have recently commented about moving it because of the snowstorm. Even though this would run counter to what the constitution clearly states a growing number of people thought this was a legitimate thing. Well in response to that last night Speaker Johnson told reporters how his office had informed everyone last week to NOT leave the District to prevent attendance issues.
It will be interesting to see who all is absent today because some Members did leave and flights have been canceled to DC along with various other modes of transportation. The joint session will begin at 1 pm EST so in just a few hours!
