Materialism as a culture phenomena destroyed the current society, as least in the US, Latin America and most Europe. Our grandparents and parents living in this ultra high time preference materialism lifestyle has sucked all capital towards consumption and practically prohibited any accumulation of capital. It's very sad and I can't see a way out other than hyperbitcoinzation.
