I'm not supporting this position.  I posted this to show how the mainstream media is viewing proof of work. What's interesting about this article is that they do discuss (slightly) pow mining benefits to the energy grid, along with security benefits.
 Also, as a general principle,  I don't think it's a good idea to just post what we want to hear. We need to know how the other side is thinking.
