Things have changed so much. As a kid I loved shortwave radio, but I liked to listen to propaganda broadcasts from Radio Moscow, Cuba, China, the VOA, etc. Later, I got my ham license, but really only played around locally with cheap Chinese handhelds. You don't even need them anymore.
I'm a baby Ham but I try to keep up with it

How is your meshtastic radio project going? I remember seeing you post about it but haven't followed up.

I've been too busy with other things over the holidays. Trying to get back to it once I get caught up on some things.
I have made more contacts with my handheld radio in the past month but haven't installed any routing nodes but I plan to. Found a local group of tech/radio people that are way into it.
Edit:
LOL, you were asking @siggy47
Boomer moment
It has become a part of my daily routine. Contrary to what I expected, I can make contacts right from a high shelf in my office, using an upgraded antenna. I have not set up a roof antenna yet. I'm picking up nodes up to about 32 km away, which is better than I expected. I do wish there was more adoption, and I haven't set up a bitcoin transaction yet. Overall, though, I like the network, and the technology is pretty simple.
