I don't see this as weak, or asking for permission. Isn't it just pointing tothe fact that, not just Bitcoin (or cryptocurrency) the whole idea and point of money is to be transmited (and in the not so distant past, saved.)
Using software to manage zeros and ones, to create, edit , read, send or receive files is the same no matter what the purpose, like writing words, censerous states are not free in any sense. We look to the US, to defend what made it fucking awesome (my personal feelings as a non-US citizen.)
The overreach is when laws are applied before a crime has been commited, or through association, which is obviously bullshit and needs to stop, or we all go to communism.
Cops need to do there (difficult) jobs, catching criminals. Innovators and inventors need to be left to do the (difficult) job of helping to bring us out of the darkness of pre-enlightenment society, as apes once were, weilding bones as tools.
The outcome of the case would define whether humanity is to be a perpetual gulag with sniviling, bureacrats, or whether the US takes this opportunity boldly, to become the most innovative culture and talented economy, setting the bar once again.
If the outcome is gulag, well, we all get to be spied on remotely, some of us get to spy on each other as a job, and we all go back hundred years or more.

The entire point of Bitcoin is to transmit money, everyone needs to stop making idiots out of themselves by denying we are doing this.
If the government ends up ruling "Yes, you need a license to run a Bitcoin node or hold Bitcoin keys", then you have dug your own grave by pretending they have the authority to control this in the first place.
Grow some fucking balls and be proud of transmitting money. Stop begging the government to reevaluate their regulation that denies you this basic human right.

This is so true. People have lost dignity and self-respect by blindly following what the government says. In reality, governments, borders, laws are all fictional and have no power over individuals. They have no say in what you do or say.
As a public entity or company, you must play by their rules because you signed a contract to be a part of their system. However, as a private individual, you are not bound by these rules.
If the government introduced a breath tax, requiring people to report their daily oxygen intake, would you comply?

Do I need a "money transmitter" licence just to take cash from my wallet and hand it to someone else? This is ridiculous. It’s absurd to think that a simple transaction between people requires a licence. People should stand up against this nonsense. Technically, the network is processing the transactions, not the wallet itself. Consider the bank counter scenario: is the bank teller doing the transmitting, or is it the bank’s system? The answer is obvious.
