Why is it terrible for Bitcoin? He's giving the highest level of legitimacy to "crypto." When people tire of tyrannical CBDCs they'll simply move to bitcoin.

Basically, by introducing CBDCs the G7 will be making their fiat worse by escalating their centralized surveillance and control privileges; hence, increasing the value proposition of Bitcoin

However, by the looks of it - he is a caretaker PM till the next general election - a year at max by optimistic accounts. The 30-point gap is too wide for his government to bridge come what may. Need to hope for a more favourable reception from the government's left of centre.
