I've always enjoyed Citadel Dispatch, as I'm sure many of us do, so I want more and ideally with some fresh and lesser known voices. What distinguishes CD is that it's squarely tech focused, not much macro/culture/politics stuff, without venturing too deep into protocol stuff. In other words, it's technical but primarily at the user level, at the level most self-custodial non-programmer bitcoiners are expected to be at. Odell is also pretty even tempered, so even when he's prescriptive, I don't feel like he's going to whip me with a spoon.
There's also Bitcoin Review, which is great and slightly more technical, but it doesn't satisfy my wish for variety. It feels a bit like it's from the same universe as CD if that makes sense. Both hosts are just incredibly successful and have been there and done that, and went there and did much of it together.
TFTC and Stephan Livera are great, but both branch out from tech with some regularity so I tend to view their podcasts almost like more learned/alternative What Bitcoin Dids.
So it goes for most of the bitcoin podcasts that I'm aware of. They're either:
  1. mixing culture, tech, political, and/or macro guests
  2. very technical protocol stuff
  3. strictly one of macro/political/cultural

What are some lesser known podcasts that are like CD? I'll pay 1k sats to any that meet the following criteria:
  1. technical bitcoin-only content but only IT/sysadmin/user-level technicality
  2. host is more of a pleb than anything else
  3. they post at least one podcast per week
  4. english speaking (sorry I no speaka no other languages)

How about Once Bitten? He has tons of unknown plebs - or at least did, looking at his most recent podcast they're a little more techy.

I'd say Bitcoin Takeover Pod, but he's had mainly shitcoiners on for the past year or so. Pretty ordinals I'd say it was similar to CD with more unknown guests.

Also, Bitcoin Dad Pod. Dad left about a year ago and now its Chris on his own doing This Week in Bitcoin which is pretty good, but more of a RHR without the swearing.

Recently stumbled upon The Bitcoin Matrix. Idk who Cedric Youngelman is or if he counts as a pleb, good pod host though. Just checked, he's a financial reporting consultant. And self coined "family man." Pretty normal pleb stuff I'd say. Really decent pod. Bob Burnett from Ocean mining was a banger https://fountain.fm/episode/jydbTm5GYX8cy84qtmGy

It ventures into political stuff more often than I'd like, but Bitcoin Takeover Podcast has a lot of interesting guests (It certainly strays from the straight and narrow).

What's the minimal spanning set of btc-related podcasts, if you had to name them right now?

I think I'm also missing a mining podcast, a progressive podcast, a taproot wizard podcast, and maybe an bitcoin-first altcoin podcast. It'd probably be easier to find a spanning set of the podcasts representing unit vectors first.

Even thinking what the unit vectors should be is an interesting exercise. Personally I think I would relax the requirements a bit and allow a bit more social / cultural things, just not the usual suspects, whose components are hugely over-represented in current podcasts.

The person that gets this correct, that's my answer too. But I said it first. 😎
