There are few greater pleasures in life than switching my weekly spending cash into sats on lightning and then going around my town finding ways to spend it. It is still a bit of a struggle to find enough variety of places to spend it, yet it is slowly getting better. This represents a small amount of money that I would have spent during the week on coffee, snack or treat. So it's not a big deal. On the other hand it gives me far more pleasure spending it with lightning than with cash.
Does anyone else have a similar experience?
I believe this is how the next adoption phase happens. Lumis' bill is going to pass, allowing Bitcoin to essentially be legal tender on purchases less than $600. Then, people like us begin demanding businesses accept Bitcoin and boycotting those which don't.
We are trendsetters, and the world will follow close behind. But we have to start somewhere, even if it's difficult right now. Patronize the shit out of any business you know that not only accepts Sats over lightning, but also hodls the Bitcoin!

I share your sentiment. For every p2p transaction I've made in the past year, I always ask if they will accept bitcoin. Sadly have been very unsuccessful. Last time I was buying pumpkins with the kids straight from the farmer. When asked if she'd accept bitcoin, dead serious replied "sorry I don't know what that is". It was hard not to laugh, but it was a reality check for me. I will never cease trying; the more people ask the sooner vendors will accept.
