Of course, they have been trained to think (if it isn’t TDS) that any of Trump’s EOs are for the purpose of misogyny, racism and terror. They cannot get it through their heads that Trump is doing the same as OBummer and Obiden as well as JFK. That is one of the Presidents’ jobs, manage the executive branch. Sounds like you colleague skipped out on the civics classes in high school.

I think it's just a dumb part of the ordinary political discourse: any executive orders the other party issues are tyrannical overreaches (usually, that is correct).

Yes it is politics and it is the same, of course, depending upon which team you are on. Everything the other side does is stark raving lunacy and everything your side does is the height of compassion and rationality. Again, just politics. I think we all saw the same thing with politics in high school as the “big boy” stuff we see now. It never changes.
