how are y'all?
I am not entirely sure what this means but I like it: I am swell. How are you? 👀
Are you starting something new?
I am finally moving out of my flat this month to be free like a bird because I don't intend to settle down somewhere again for a while.
I also want to get a pilot license or a pet (probably dog). Two goals so I can at least achieve one of them. Not sure which is harder though but I have more of an idea how to get a pilot license than how to get a dog, especially because I don't want to settle down somewhere again for a while. So maybe a pet is out of question until I commit to some location for a few years again. 🤔 (/cc @siggy47 @grayruby)
Does your political climate feel weird?
Not really, just as weird as usual since I also stopped being a leftist. But I do feel some Schadenfreude that our government dissolved in November and that Trump won, since my fellow Europeans really hate him. I also really liked this meme about the US election:
memes as the only way to stay sane in this clown world
But I am also scared of who our new government will be and I’m still struggling to walk the fine line between ‘I don’t care about politics’ or 'both sides are wrong' vs. dealing with someone talking uneducated, biased shit, lol
What one word would you use to describe your vibe for 2025?
🕊️
What's your current music/TV/podcast interest?
I want to finish Better Call Saul, but I don't remember where I left off, so I'll probably just start from the beginning again. I also want to watch El Camino, Narcos, The Sopranos, etc. I guess you can see a pattern in the kind of shows I like.

what did you mean by "our gov't dissolved in Nov"? this is curious

Since we have many parties to elect, and five of them usually receive enough votes to enter parliament (>5%), our government is typically formed by two or three parties to secure more than 50% of the votes.
In November, one party was removed from the government by the other two, leaving them with less than 50%. So now they no longer have a majority and must constantly seek parliamentary support for decisions. Essentially, it's a crippled government, and we're waiting for new elections. Apparently, they are scheduled for end of this month.
Does that make sense?
I'm a bit worried because after the left-green shift 1 (which abandoned nuclear power), we're now seeing a strong shift into the opposite direction. Since I look like an immigrant, I might end up as collateral damage, lol
It's probably not as bad but maybe just not yet.

  1. The derogatory term is 'linksgrün-versifft.' We use 'versifft' to describe something that is wet and reeks.
