Kinda sad that they've nearly spent 10 years chasing the impossible goal of perfect compatibility with Bitcoin Core.
Conformal maintained it for a long time before forking the code to create Decred. Why Lightning Labs opted to maintain/use the code is almost as crazy as the creation of the code itself.
