I don't know why they are using eggs as such a heavy metric for inflation right now. They've killed off tons of chickens and it takes new chickes 6 weeks to mature after they're born to start laying more eggs.
It's just odd because there's obviously non inflationary circumstances effecting egg prices.

Agreed it’s a supply issue. I read this and I thought maybe I should buy a few chickens and sell at cheaper price. Why Milton is credited with saying the cure for high prices is high prices because individual actors will come and think they offer eggs at a lower price.

It just kind of also demonstrates how terrible the CPI is at measuring actual inflation
