Much to @realBitcoinDog's chagrin, we did eat out for Valentine's Day. Well, actually, we got some take out, but it definitely wasn't very healthy.
However, we did eat fairly early, so it didn't mess up my fasting.

Reflections

Even though I had been regularly fasting before February, this Fast February exercise has improved the habit and led to some noticeable outcomes.
The first couple of days, I was kind of snacky. Because of the fiscal fast element of Fast February, I had to snack on whatever was around the house already. That turned out to be the "wrong" type of applesauce that our daughter refuses to eat. After those first few days, though, I really haven't been very snacky.
In fact, my general appetite is noticeably lower.
The most pronounced non-appetite related effect has been more vivid dreams (or at least more memorable dreams).
On the con side, I have felt a little stiffer and have been stretching more often to alleviate muscle tension.

Something I've learned is that how you break your fast matters, especially the prolonged ones, and it may even determine the success of your efforts.
According to the naturopath Arnold Ehret, the author of Rational Fasting, and The Mucusless Diet Healing System, your first meal after a fast should promote bowel movements, to rid the body of the hardened undigested matter that accumulates in the guts, hampering the absorption of nutrients. A prolonged fast will help loosen it, and plums, cherries, or cabbage juice are ideal for flushing them out of your system (but make sure in advance that the WC is available... 😂). I've always been surprised by how much stuff gets stuck in there, and you can tell it was in there for a long time because of the stench (sorry, trying hard not to be too graphic). You will come out of the WC feeling sooo much better, it's comparable to when you throw out after being sick from food poisoning...

Since my base diet is beans and greens, I'm never too concerned about promoting bowel movement.
Do you think starting off with coffee + coconut oil is a good approach?

I'm personally not too dogmatic about it. I think you have to try and see how your body reacts, then make adjustments when needed. There's so much more information to be gained from experimenting...

I understand your journey, are the experiences of your dreams from moments of the past or are we talking only about the present? Or how do you see it?
reply
They've mostly been from the present, but with elements of the past mixed in.

Do you believe that fasting can help cure or prevent certain types of cancer?
reply
I'm not sure. I've heard mixed things, especially about dry fasting.
What have you heard?

I've heard a lot from my friends about fasting and cancer. They believe fasting lowers cancer risk by starving cancer cells and preventing their growth. I noticed you've been fasting a lot lately so i thought you might know something. Hehe, never mind. Fasting is good. Keep it up!
reply
It makes some sense, actually.

I had heard that too, but then I saw some research about how cancer thrives in conditions of autophagy, which fasting causes.
If I had any cancer concerns, I would definitely spend more time looking into it.
