Yup, lots of celebrities in Africa are benefiting from the spending by marketing departments of centralized bitcoin and crypto exchanges (Binance, Paxful, Bitsika (Ghana / West Africa)), and others (e.g., Kenyan rapper King Kaka becoming global ambassador for Sportsbet.io sports book).
But that's like celebrating that Coinbase is worth $100B or whatever. That sucks. That means they are extracting a huge amount of value from their users.
Not sure what will be the catalyst that gets us moving towards using bitcoin (or stablecoin, whatever) as the medium of exchange, in a circular economy / closed loop.
