This is 150(!) pages from Eric Yakes of Epoch VC. I know Yates as the author of The 7th Property but I also know founders who’ve met with his VC firm.
The book (erm report) is pretty dang thorough. Seems like Yakes used it to organize his thoughts while investing in the ecosystem. I ignored the price/treasury sections, but the business and protocol sections are super thorough.
Interesting stuff. Still... I have a hard time believing some of the stats in this. He's pulling them from other sources so that's not on him but I just don't buy that 5% of the world population holds bitcoin. Nor that 1 in 7 Americans have bitcoin. I don't think I'm alone in finding that surprising.
That seems like a pretty optimistic estimate...

This is the secret power of bitcoin. It does not require ideological understanding. Number go up attracts everyone.

What's worse, I fell asleep 10 minutes into the episode! Yesterday was insane. My wife had to be at a surgical pre-op at 6:00am. (Minor hand surgery to correct trigger finger). By the time I got home I was exhausted. I'm actually excited to read this. Very ambitious undertaking. I like Yates.
