Also, study history: Journalism has always been about lowest-common-denominator click-bait. This is not new and "good speech" -- quality information -- has always been a matter of personal responsibility.

Ideally the best way to fight bad speech is with good speech.  Unfortunately bad speech is so much more viral to our monkey brains.  We are devolving into click-bait, tabloid driven independent "journalists".  Those pushing censorship on twitter etc just drive people towards alternative echo chambers.  I don't know what the solution is, it's frankly just depressing all around.  As a centrist I just find myself hating everyone.
