Over the last few weeks I been trying to badger Jack Mallers to fix his p2p UI/UX in the application. When trying to pay people on app it is way to easy to lay the wrong person. You should be able to add and delete people from your list of pervious payments easily!
Also if you want to pay Someone again from your past it should be easy to go into your history select that person and boom pay.
This is why Venmo got so popular they made it easy to pay family, friends, business, etc.
Strike really needs to fix this! At least bring it to the level of cash app.
Not much familiar with stripe, but I can see they allow saving contacts. From their site 1
Once you have made a payment in the Strike app, the individual that you transacted with will be saved as a contact. You can view your contacts by visiting your Account screen and tapping Contacts. Contacts are organized by Username (Strike users and Lightning addresses) and Send Globally recipients.
If your Send Globally recipient has changed their receiving information, such as their phone number, or bank account details, then you’ll need to remove them as a contact and enter their updated information the next time you send them money.
To remove a contact, simply visit your Contacts, swipe left on the contact’s name, and then confirm the removal.
Now, considering this account above has no contacts, I can however see there are options to send to strike users by username and to LN addresses. It's clear from the last screen that contacts are added to the address book when a payment is received. Isn't working like this? Would be nice to see some screenshots from you and see which functionalities you'd like to have-where.

Thanks I did this and cleaned up some things but I still can’t click a name and send from this list. Or even check payment history

Oh ok, maybe is just an issue/bug. Are you on iOS, Android or Graphene? Have you tried to log out and back in? or uninstall ad re-install the app?
reply
That’s just how the app is designed. It’s poor UI/UX. I didn’t know I needed to look up in the FAQs to see how to delete someone. Why not put a graphic or tell the user on the page how to add and delete people

Agreed -- the UX for contacts could definitely use some love, including your suggestions.
Including letting you paste in the leading "0" (e.g., for +254, Kenya, a number dialed domestically is 0712345678 -- 10 digits. But with Strike Send Globally you try to paste that 10 digit number and it won't take it, as it wants only the 9 number (omit the leading 0).
Stuff like that.
But now that Tando app is back, and working so beautifully, I'm not using Strike Send Globally hardly ever anymore. 60 seconds between hitting "Send" and the recipient messaging back that they received the m-pesa payment is a level of service that Strike Send Globally's local payment provider (Ali Pay or something like that) could only dream of providing.

The entire UI of Strike is awful. It's cartoon-y and doesn't feel like a professional app that I'd want to use.

Yeah they got the hard stuff right but everything else is neglected. They need a better product designer/manager

Yea it is. People always told me to stay away from the crazy ones, but the crazy ones won't stay away from me.

Unrelated, but I really tried hard to communicate to Strike that they should add an option to pause auto-withdrawals when all addresses that you’ve provided have been used up. Their current process will deposit to the last address used which could happen more than once which is bad practice.
reply
It's easy enough to prevent, just add more.
reply
Right, but if you want to set and forget a warning would at least be nice. Otherwise, you might as well just do the withdrawals to cold storage manually.

I've only used strike to buy a gift card and it worked fine. The rates are a little high but yeah it is ok. I won't do P2P there because they seem toe very difficult.
