The awesome and generous @BlokchainB is trying to give his sats away to whoever can guess my favourite Raptors player of all time. Very cool contest idea. Here is the original post. #908174

Some great guesses so far with a lot of Raptors legends mentioned. All guys I am huge fans of but not my pick. So here is clue number 1:

My favourite Raptors player was a key part of the core of both good and bad Raptors' teams for multiple seasons but he never averaged more than 15 points per game and never made an all star team.

If no one gets it by 4pm et tomorrow I will post another clue.

Sats for all, GR

Morris Peterson?

reply

Really good guess. Big fan of Mo Pete. I might have him 2 but not number 1.

Is it Andrea Bargnani?

reply

No but I loved his Pasta commercials.

reply

Jonas Valancunas

reply

JV! Good guess but nope.

reply

Dang! I thought your hint was a trick, because he did average 15 points in his last season with the Raptors, but only after he was traded away.

reply

You are giving me too much credit. I didn't overthink it. Just looked at his stats.

reply

Two more: Antonio Davis or Jerome "Junkyard Dog" Williams (I liked him when he played for the Pistons)?

reply

JYD definitely one of my favourites but not the guy I had in mind.

reply

Since there is a clue now can all the people who guessed already guess again? @BlokchainB

reply

Yes unlimited guesses I never knew it would be this difficult

reply

OG?

reply

Best name but no.

Doug Christie?

reply

No but good guess. Gnilma already won the bounty. The answer is Alvin Williams.

reply

Steady Freddy.

(Fred VanVleet)

reply

Good guess. Big fan of Fred Sr. Not him though.

reply

What do you mean by good or bad raptors there? I thought it should be 2015 to 2019 good, and 2019 to present day bad.

reply

Yes that's the idea some good years, some bad years, but it doesn't have to be that time frame. The Raptors have been around since 1995.

@gnilma got it correct #909762

reply

Yeah! Seen that. I went a bit off road. I first commented one from that era, not Alvin though.

reply

I think it was Malcolm Miller :)

reply

Now that is a wild guess. Haha. I barely remembered that name. No that's not him.

reply

Chris Boucher

reply

Really good guess. Boucher has been a great Raptors providing energy off the bench. Big fan of his but not him.

reply

Haha, I like this contest. I am reviewing players who played with Raptors and some of them having a key role in Spanish teams too, such as Marc Gasol, Garbajosa, Lorenzo Brown...

As @BlokchainB mentioned unlimited guesses, I will try another one: Serge Ibaka

reply

None of those guys but good guesses.

reply

Had fun with the contest! Good job @gnilma!

reply

Thanks!

reply

Amir Johnson

reply

No but good guess. He was awesome.

reply

Damn, thought I had it with this one.

reply

That’s a good guess.

reply

Lou Williams

reply

No but good guess.

reply

That's ok, our friendship is worth more than sats... but I want those sats, so maybe just tell them I'm correct

reply

Hopefully @gnilma will take a shot.

reply

Sure, I'll take a shot at this. To be honest, I got quite an advantage with my guess, because so many have already made guesses and I can factor out all the incorrect guesses. That said, is your favorite Raptors player Alvin Williams?

reply

Boom first try! A fellow Raptors fan understands.

Remember this shot @grayruby?

reply

That was a huge series win for the Raptors. How could I forget?

reply

Against my Knicks at that

reply

Knicks had their number the year before.

It was a sweep in 2000, right? 3-0 Knicks? Back then, first rounds were best of 5, now everything is best of 7. Soon, they're going to make the play-in best of 7 too just to have more games, haha.

A lucky guess while riding on the advantage of guessing late. Thank you @BlokchainB for the sats and thank you @grayruby for asking me to make a guess.

reply

He's clearly not a household name, so what made you love Alvin Williams?

reply

Gamer, leader, clutch, played most of his career on two bad ankles yet left it on the court every night. Loved my teammates, coaches and fans.
