I'm a big fan of George Plimpton's books (especially Paper Lion, where he goes "undercover" to try out for the Detroit football team -- the coaches knew, but the other players did not). I even posted a compilation of his Intellivision Commercials to SN last year (#511856).
But I didn't learn until today that he (along with Rosy Grier and Olympic gold medalist Rafer Johnson) help subdue Sirhan Sirhan after RFK's assassination.
Just one of those things that would probably be in the top ten facts about most people's lives, but barely makes the cut with someone like Plimpton.
