My dog's first day at the dog park. It reminded me of watching my child on a playground with other kids. You want your dog to be confident and friendly. Not too aggressive. Not too timid. She was nervous, and I got nervous watching her. She eventually found her group, other dogs with whom she felt comfortable. It seemed to me that she was shunned by the regular, cool dogs. My daughter thought I was overreacting and anthropomorphizing. I probably was, but watching the interactions certainly reminded me of kids on a playground.

Beautiful dog. What breed? We always anthropomorphize our pets, it's something natural, I think.

Mostly American Bulldog mixed with something. I'm a little intrigued to do a DNA test, but I don't want to invade her privacy 😀

reply

I believe he won't care much about his origins lol.

reply

Yep. I don't much care either

Socializing is hard, it seems, for humans and animals alike

She cowers with fear out in the world , then comes home and terrorizes the cat. There's a valid metaphor in there somewhere.

reply

Aw your dog looks like a sweetheart. She will win any group over dont worry. She must have made one proud dad today hehe

reply

At least she didn’t start a fight.

reply

True. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Maybe shes a free thinker Bitcoin Bulldog so does not follow the fiat debt slavery mainstream - instead makes her own way and hangs out with the geeks, freaks and innovators. Much more fun!

reply

It was his first day...give him time and he will adapt to the circumstances and refute your statement in the title ;)

reply

Very much like little kids
