YC is hosting our first-ever AI startup school in San Francisco on June 16 and 17th.

AI Startup School will gather 2000 of the top CS undergrads, masters, and PhD candidates in AI to hear from speakers including Elon Musk, Satya Nadella, Sam Altman, Andrej Karpathy, Andrew Ng and many more — the world’s top AI experts and founders.

This is a 100% free conference and every attendee is hand-picked.

Who should attend

This conference is for undergrads, graduate students and recent graduates in CS, ML, applied math, and related technical fields. Even if you did not study these fields in school, you may qualify if you are highly technical and can demonstrate technical skills in e.g. open source repos, projects you’ve built, papers you’ve published, etc.

For people flying in to SF, we will cover up to $500 in airfare.

A very good initiative! An AI startup can be "diving board" for some students / recent graduate peoples.

BUT...

And this is a very big BUT :)

In my opinion, the basics of AI should be taught in elementary school. Especially those that help prevent/eliminate the dangers that scammers use to steal from people (image modification, voiceover, etc.). However, it would be good to teach this not only in schools, but also to the older generation. They are usually the ones who are the primary targets of scammers.
