BIP 300/301 (Drivechains)
Basically programmable and trustless sidechains that uses BTC as a currency.
It's such a wonderful concept. It could solve the long-term security budget issue, fight alt coins thus enforcing the 21 million cap, attract even more builders and enable extremely useful feature for you and me.

The concept is amazing and it can work.
There are many communities in bitcoin and some are against expanding utility and competitivity, under bad pretexts.
Sidechains like RSK are underestimated.

You could have a large number of drivechains and even implement their own version version of the Lightning Network on them. I'm not sure about the utility of sidechain on drivechains.

Personally I will always and forever be most excited about payments that can't be tracked by the state or their collaborators.
It feels like we'll get there relatively soon with lightning, and then never look back.

I was thinking the other night about community custodied fedimint like systems issuing RGB assets where they were backed by a single satoshi UTXO...
I don't have a very deep understanding of such things, but it was a fun thing to consider for a while.
Just imagining the future and how these incredible technologies will stack and layer creating new potentials Humanity has never had available to it.
