That's the destructive part. We couldn't really discuss the more practical matters because this person kept going on and on and no one stepped up to cut it off.
Look, even if you agree that it's bad for the environment, what exactly is one university supposed to do about that? Let's just focus on the task at hand which is to strategize about how our university will use AI in teaching and research.

Was nobody moderating the meeting? It’s up to them to make sure the meeting is moderate to be productive imo.

The chair didn't interrupt or stop it. But to her credit, she didn't really engage on those topics either; just moved on after the person was done talking.

Are university professors already starting to get scared, especially with Bill Gates' recent statements that AIs will replace teachers and doctors in about 10 years.
