A well-thought out, one line rhetorical question can stop a lot of that.
While also putting a target on oneself.
I'd have to care a lot more about my organization and/or coworkers to bother with that.

Principled people always have targets on their back. People like compromisers. Be principled. Be respected. Fuck being liked.

My goal isn't to be liked. I speak my mind to people I respect, whether we agree or disagree with each other.
I'm not currently in a situation where I respect those around me enough to consider speaking up worth the hassle it would create. That's why I need a change of scenery. It's not good to be surrounded by people you don't respect.

I hope to eventually be in a situation where I care enough to not hold my tongue.

If you care enough you'll speak.

Do you / have you spoken up in these situations?

The older you get the more you do. At least I do. I feel like I have less time for the bullshit.
I know from experience that this is true. I just happen to not be in such a situation, at present. Like I said, I hope to be in a situation like that again.

You have to speak up.you can exclude someone because they are white just like you can't if they are black. People got this shit all mixed up.
