Honestly, I just want to lay around and have an easy day for my birthday. I don't want to party, or go out, I just want a day to relax.

Same, parties are too much work. My ideal birthday would probably just grab a nice meal with my family, and maybe have a jam session with a few buddies. That's it. nothing fancy

Same here. I'm not into parties on my birthday either. I just want to spend time with my wife and kid, maybe hang out at a park, zoo, or up in the mountains.

Seeking blessings of my elders, spending time with family, and yum yum for the special kheer - poodies that my mother cooks.

Ideal: A spa day followed by a nice dinner with the husband while someone else cleans the house… Reality: Being awakened an hour earlier than normal by children overly excited to give mommy presents, trying to keep the house reasonably clean while feeding and educating three kids, and then a dinner with the family.

I bet when the kids are grown and I get my “ideal,” I will really miss my current reality.

I would be perfectly content to stay in my house all day and work on any of my projects while listening to podcasts and music. But for my birthday this year, I'll be at work!

I am like you, I often don't really want to do anything for my birthday. It actually makes me dislike my birthday somewhat, because it feels like a waste of the special occasion to not do anything.

Last year I went to a spa for a few days with my fiancée for my birthday. That ended up being a good birthday.

Spending the day with my loved ones, and then going out for lunch or dinner without a care for the cost.
