I'm tired of being a slave. I want to be the change that I want to see in the world.

Help me break off my chains.

It would be relatively easy to find a remote job and get paid in Bitcoin. No more banks, no more tax fillings, no more bullshit. Sounds great.

Now, for the spending side. Paying rent in Bitcoin is also achievable. Most home owners would be happy to avoid their taxes and bureaucracy even without being bitcoiners on the first place. Cool.

Groceries: ideally convince some local store to accept Bitcoin and buy everything from them. Something like https://darth-coin.github.io/general/bitcoin-adoption-story-en.html Worst case, find online sellers that ship meat and vegetables or some store gift card from bitrefill. Already requires some effort, but looks like a good fight to pick.

How about these other expenses?

Transportation: local public transport, and public transport abroad while traveling (buses, taxis, ferries, ...).
Real state: land, house, ... Owning your citadel sounds like the way to go.
Healtcare.

There are a few alternatives to insurance. I've known about Crowd Health for a while, but I've never been a member.

It would help for “living on bitcoin” if Lightning bitcoin was integrated in local mobile payments systems, like with Bull Bitcoin’s “SINPE” integration in Costa Rica.

Of course this is not as ideal as creating Bitcoin circular economies because the recipient is getting fiat.. but you as a consumer can benefit from your rising purchasing power.

I'll soon get there. There are a few people who live entirely on Bitcoin only. There isn't any in my country, so I'm working on becoming the first.

Something like......story...

As they are, they are merely fictional stories. Unless, you can't show up in real, in person, and confront or show the reality how it's done, I'm not gonna believe any. I've written a lot of stories and believe me none hold complete truth about me or about the subject.

Alright a straight question: Do you know anyone in person/for real who doesn't use fiat money at all?

And you know him for real, right? Do you know his real name, place where he lives, who he transacts with, what he does for a living, he hasn't paid anyone in fiat or taken fiat as payment for years and you've witnessed all of these standing beside him?

No. And he doesn't give many details.

I will find out on my own the practical limits in reality. For now I know I'm able to pay my rent in Bitcoin. But it took years to convince the home owner.

That's why the stories about living on Bitcoin are just delusional. Not judging because one person might feel like he's using Bitcoin for almost everything (like Darth or whoever) but ultimately the money is falling for fiat currencies atm.

To live absolutely on Bitcoin will need changes in the whole system of money logistics. Bitcoin needs to be accepted by all and everyone as MoE. What's the utility if you pay someone in Bitcoin and he recieves fiat? Until we see the whole supply chain accepting Bitcoin, I'm not convinced if someone says he can live only on Bitcoin.

I mean I'm concerning with your points like you can partially do it atm, but you still can't pay in Bitcoin for transportation, groceries, healthcare, taxes, tution fees, an so on everywhere.

But how will/can it change? We need more and more real Bitcoiners everywhere, from politics to bureaucracy to offices, colleges, schools, to a farmer or petty trader. And for it we need to push harder by turning it into a revolution, but this ain't gonna happen if you only make fictional stories (praising yourself). We need more real people who are ready to do some real work on field.

At least offering to pay in Bitcoin for anything you buy is the least we can do. And having a strong preference for Bitcoiner merchants.

Thanks. It misses some answers: even if you don't touch fiat again, some costs “come” to you.

When traveling, I'm sure you could convince someone to carry you around for Bitcoin. Great.

And when buying a house or land you could find a seller that accepts Bitcoin as well.

But what do you do when the trash collection tax/fee arrives to your mailbox to be paid in fiat? What do you do when the same happens with the property tax?

I get it, it's theft and you shouldn't pay it if you are not a slave. Understood. I still want to know the consequences and how does it look like in practical examples.

At least there I live, any tax or fine can be paid in cash at certain banks. And I think f2f p2p BTC into cash exchange for that purpose does not betray "living on bitcoin" mantra.

If you can find a willing seller, I don't know why you couldn't just buy land with bitcoin.

I think Darth goes overboard with his religion. My interpretation of freedom is to live under the radar while keeping wealth in BTC and not letting the state taxing it.

it is fascinating that you have brought this topic brother i totally agree with you bitcoin or any other crypto currecy has made the transaction quite comforting specifically the seamless lightning satoshi technology. the only issue is that more people need to actually adapt using sats or any other crypto. since fiat and bank systems is making the world even worse than it already is.and that my friend you experienced is a liberation if possible to make mor posts about this to keep us updated about the overall experience.

It depends on the country you're living in.

For example, in Spain and Portugal if you are rich in SATs and poor on Fiat is very hard to rent a place to live.

Is it? Precisely in those countries it's fairly common to have undeclared rents in cash. If home owners find out about Bitcoin they are going to love it xD
