We also give some updates on the upcoming NBA contests and try to figure out what the playoff matchups will be.
An upcoming ~Stacker_Stocks post is teased and we talk through my favorite Raiders QB (how are those two things related?).
Thanks for listening and supporting the show, stackers!
It is a nice one though no mention of Cricket at all!!

We talked about the T20k contest being close for 2nd place.
reply
That was in this or previous episode?
I listened two episodes and one was without any.
reply
And, we talked about me missing a round and how there was no chance @Coinsreporter would have cut me a break if I submitted it a second after the match began.
reply
Yupp, I remember I listened it. I listened two of the previous episodes. One of them was only about Match madness.

Summary

Overview

In this episode, the hosts recap the recent March Madness tournament and discuss various sports contests, upcoming events, and personal insights. They celebrate the end of their March Madness points challenge, where participant "all Satoshi" emerged as the winner with approximately 32,000-33,000 sats, edging out competitors through strategic picks and upsets like Florida's victory over Houston. The secret pick system added excitement, and they reflect on how it influenced outcomes, including some surprises in the final games.

NBA and Future Contests

The conversation shifts to the NBA playoffs, with the hosts analyzing current standings, potential matchups (e.g., Clippers vs. Warriors, Lakers securing a top seed), and the play-in tournament starting soon. They announce a new NBA playoffs challenge, modeled after the March Madness format, where participants earn points for predicting winners, seeds, and MVPs, with bonuses for variation. Additionally, they promote a collaborative bracket challenge with Global Sports Central, featuring a 1,000-sat buy-in and a Blockstream Jade as the grand prize. There's talk of a fun rivalry between Stackers and Noster communities, with the buy-in sats potentially going to the group with the best average performance.

Other Sports Discussions

The episode covers a range of topics, including cricket's T20 league (with a close race for second place), baseball fantasy pools (where the hosts compare their rosters and strategies), UEFA Champions League pools (noting upsets and their own standings), and NHL updates, such as Alexander Ovechkin's record-breaking goal tally and whether he'll return next season. They also delve into NFL draft speculation, debating potential picks for teams like the Raiders and 49ers, and share betting strategies on Predicts, likening it to Warren Buffett's investment style. Personal banter includes favorite players, draft surprises, and the rise of niche sports like chase tag as a potential future trend.

Closing Thoughts

The hosts tease future episodes with topics like the NFL draft and more contest details, emphasizing community engagement through their territory on Stacker News, Nostr, and Fountain. The episode blends sports analysis, excitement for upcoming events, and light-hearted rivalry, encouraging listeners to participate in contests and follow along. Overall, it's an engaging mix of reflection on past events and anticipation for the sports calendar ahead.

The real question is who is your least favourite Raiders QB?
reply
That's a fun one. It's either Jimmy G or Minshew. There were no doubt worse QB's at various points, but they were the ones I hated watching the most.
reply
Haha Jimmy G.
Blaine Gabbert!
reply
After some reflection, Minshew is the worst. Jimmy G sucked, but a lot of what I hated was Josh McDaniels' offense and it's not fair to put that on Jimmy.
The way Minshew played QB was uniquely horrific, even considering how bad Getsy's offense was.
reply
Davante Adams would not agree. Haha
reply
I'm not sure. Minshew's the one who got him to fake an injury and demand a trade, after all.
